She has worked as choreographer at a number of institutions: Collège Régina Assumpta (Montréal), École de danse Quatre Temps (Rimouski), École DansEncorps (New Brunswick), Domaine Forget (Saint-Irénée), and the Astragale dance company (Trois-Rivières), where she was also rehearsal mistress. She has been director of the Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur dance camps since the summer of 2003.With Troupe Symbiose of École de Danse de Boucherville, Suzanne participated several times in the Danse Encore International Dance Festival in Trois-Rivières, where she won the prize for best jazz choreography as well as several gold medals. Besides her dance activities, Suzanne teaches yoga and ball pilates at Studios Lyne St-Roch in Montréal.
Suzanne Gagnon After graduating from the École supérieure de danse du Québec (École de ballet contemporain) in 1983, Suzanne Gagnon joined Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal and danced with the company for a decade. Wishing to explore other facets of the discipline, she turned to teaching dance in leisure programs, and to skaters and gymnasts at their national training camps. This new direction led her, while pursuing a graduate degree at the dance department of Université du Québec à Montréal, to become director of the dance program of Collège Regina Assumpta in 1997; she also teaches at the college. Suzanne is an active member of the Regroupement québécois de la danse, taking part in initiatives to develop the teaching of dance, organizing conferences, discussion groups, and training sessions for dance teachers in schools. She has also taken part in panels on the conditions and the content of the teaching of dance in Québec schools, and oversees artistic projects elaborated by the Quebec Education Department, the Quebec Federation of Private Schools, and the Pedagogical Committee of Collège Regina Assumpta, among others. The promotion and the deepening of a dynamic, contemporary, and creative teaching of dance are fundamental to Suzanne’s approach.
