Çaturn
Choreography Peter Chu, Crystal Pite, Naomi Stikeman

Wednesday, August 5 – 8 p.m., Big Top

Çaturn is a real joy, a meeting between dance and video offering reflection and emotion, tenderness and intelligence.” (Voir)

Integrating her original screenplay into this new creation, Naomi Stikeman explores the meandering paths of memory in a surprising and daring pas de deux in which live dance echoes video images. With the participation of renowned collaborators such as Robert Lepage, Crystal Pite, Alexander MacSween and Peter Chu―with whom she magnificently shares the stage―, in this work, the unforgettable muse of Édouard Lock's film Amélia imparts a sensitive and poetic evocation of the life cycle.

“An unsettling work, imbued with tenderness, on aging and the passing of time.” (La Presse)

60 minutes, no intermission.
A coproduction of One Yellow Fish, Danse Cité and Canada Dance Festival.
