A Word from the Artistic Director

For this 13th edition of FASS, the mood is set for discovery and re-acquaintance with single performers and companies that have thrilled us, and we now offer them to you like a series of shooting stars who have come to brighten the Laurentian sky.

More than 150 artists from near and far will be with us this summer to awe us by their talent and move us by their passion. Come with us to the festivities and let yourself be swept away by the accessible and generous music and dance presentations that are more expressive than ever.

On the program are several irresistible revelations and premiere performances, including the Canadian premiere of Slovenia's Ballet Maribor presenting the electrifying Radio and Juliet, and the North-American premiere of Le Sang des Étoiles by Ballet Biarritz – Thierry Malandain of France. As for concerts, we'll be invited by Constantinople to spend an evening in Isfahan (Soir d’été à Ispahan), a pure delight to be performed in Église de Saint-Sauveur.

The goings-on at the Scène Desjardins merit attention as well: the palpitating rhythms of free performances will continue throughout the Festival. And let's not forget the second edition of Tohu Bohu on Sunday, August 2: a whole day of activities dedicated to children and their families.

We'd like to thank our partners and generous donors, as well as our team of volunteers who give us their unflagging support during this showcase of excellence. But especially, we'd like to thank you, our dear audience, for showing your loyalty year after year and making the Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur a not-to-be-missed Laurentian summer rendezvous.

I urge you to come and celebrate the performing arts at their best with us, starting on July 30th!

Anik Bissonnette, Artistic Director
