A Word from the Artistic Director
For its 14th edition, and to celebrate the beginning of the new decade, the Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur presents an impressive variety of programs With more than 24 original and innovative performances, including several world premieres, the Festival presents, again this year, the best in international stage performances. Talented artists of all ages, strengths, styles and backgrounds, will be represented... From the prestigious Royal Winnipeg Ballet, to the very energetic Compania Nacional de Danza 2 from Spain, to the audacious Alonzo King LINES Ballet from San Francisco, we promise a universe of outstanding diversity. In music, we proudly welcome the International Vocal Arts Institute, founded by Joan Dornemann, assistant conductor of the New York Metropolitan Opera. Also appearing on the mainstage, will be the highly successful Angèle Dubeau and La Pietà. Because they feed the imagination, stimulate thought and inspire emotions, live performing arts are best when discovered at an early age. The Festival therefore invites the young to its traditional Tohu Bohu event, an entire day of activities dedicated to children and families. The Big Top tent will furthermore be hosting Quebec dance company Sursaut with a performance especially aimed to amaze the young. The Desjardins Exterior Stage proposes, once again, a nonstop program of free shows. Singing, dancing and fun await you! An event as big as the Festival could not be possible without the help of numerous partners and generous donors. We also warmly thank our team of volunteers for their formidable and essential support. I now invite you to the beautiful Laurentians, as of July 29, to take part in one of the biggest celebrations of live performance of the summer! Anik Bissonnette, Artistic Director
