Anik BissonnetteSixteen years ago, Saint-Sauveur became home to one of the finest events dedicated to the performing arts. To mark its "Sweet Sixteen," the Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur has decided to completely indulge festival-goers by offering them an edition filled with exciting discoveries and the favourites that were high points in the festival's history.

This year's programming will once again feature the top names in dance and music: talent, from new to established, artists from here and abroad, the best in their respective classes. While the prestigious Hong Kong Ballet returns to North America for a rare visit, the acclaimed Trey McIntyre Project will perform on a
Canadian stage for the first time. Dance sensation and past FASS favorite, Momix, is coming back to Saint-Sauveur for another sure-to-please performance. Another exciting headliner: the Esmeralda Enrique Spanish Dance Company of Toronto, poised to give us an evening of flamenco virtuosity.

The musical program will showcase many fine Canadian voices. The Festival is pleased to welcome Lewis Furey and Gino Quilico in two concerts that promise to be
as different as they are eagerly awaited by fans. The Canadian Vocal Arts Institute returns for the closing concert with a recital by the next generation of tenors
and divas.

For still-young enthusiasts of the arts, another edition of Tohu Bohu awaits: a full day of outdoor shows, workshops, and activities that will be fun for all generations. For the occasion, the Cas Public dance company presents a show created specially for young festival attendees.

Once again this year, the outdoor Desjardins stage will be the scene of many free shows. It is a wonderful way to soak up the unique atmosphere of the village of Saint-Sauveur while enjoying free entertainment!

With all my heart I thank our many partners and generous donors, without whom the Festival would not be possible. Thanks, too, to our team of volunteers for their precious support.

Devotees of the arts and culture, everyone who loves our beautiful region, consider this your invitation! Join us from July 26 to August 4, 2012, for one of the finest of summer celebrations!
